Master Classes in Summer 2012 in co-operation with Savonlinna Opera Festival and Savonlinna Summer University

Opera Master Class I
25.6.-3.7.2012, Professor Tom Krause (Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, Madrid, Spain). Pianist Matthias Veit (Hamburg, Germany) and Virpi Vähäpassi (Finland). Each singer will get five lessons during the Master Class.

Opera Master Class II
2.-8.7.2012, Tenor Jorma Silvasti (Finland). Pianist Ilkka Paananen (Finland). Each singer will get five to six lessons during the Master Class.

Opera Master Class III
4.-11.7.2012, Professor Gabriele Fontana (Wiener Universität für Musik, Austria) and director Eija Tolpo (Finland). Pianist Kristian Attila (Sibelius Academy, Finland) and pianist Matthias Veit (Hamburg, Germany).

The Master Class is primarily organized for the finalists of the Timo Mustakallio -singing competition 2011.

Contrabass Master Class
8.-15.7.2012, Jiri Parviainen (Sibelius Academy, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Finland). Pianist Timo Koskinen (Finland).

Violin Master Class
12.-20.7.2012, Professor Mi-kyung Lee (Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, Germany). Pianist Timo Koskinen (Finland).

Course fee: 250 € (lessons).

French melodies and French / German Chanson & German Lied Master Classes
26.7.-1.8.2012, Professor Daniel Fueter (Zürich Musikhochschule, Switzerland) and professor Hartmut Höll (Karlsruhe Musikhochschule, Germany). Students are chosen primarily as singer&pianist -duos. Each duo has to take part in both classes and will get lessons in both classes in every day.

Course fee: 400 € / Duo (lessons).

10.-19.8.2012, Mozart Piano Quartet: Paul Rivinius, piano (München, Germany), Mark Gothoni, violin (Universität der Künste Berlin) and Peter Hörr, cello (Hochschule für Musik and Theater Leipzig). Paul Coletti, viola (Colburn Conservatory, Los Angeles, USA). Pianist Salla Karakorpi (Finland) and pianist Robert Roozeman (Finland). The final concerts will be recorded by the Music Technology Master Class.

Course fee: 100-250 € (lessons). Only Chamber Music: The members of existing ensemble 100 €, others 150 €. Piano, Violin, Viola & Cello Master Classes: 250 € (including Chamber Music).
